Iran government is considering to resume issuing Iran tourist visas from 1st of November 2021, as daily COVID-19 cases in Iran have come down, confirmed by Seyed Ezatollah Zarghami, Minister of Cultural Heritage and Tourism on Monday September 27th. The decision is being considered to boost the country’s tourism as cases are declining.

Ali Asghar Shalbafian, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Tourism has confirmed that things have been formalized and a meeting has been called in the Ministry of Tourism to discuss plans to resume tourist visas.

According to the official, direct and indirect entry or exit (groups or individuals) of Iranian and foreign nationals from / to land borders and air borders by presenting a vaccination card or negative PCR test and observing protocols and instructions approved by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education from November 1st this year is unrestricted.

Tourist visas are suspended since March 2020, from the day the first lockdown was announced. Later, several categories of visas like Iran business visa and Iran medical visa were exempted but Iranian tourist visas remained suspended.
