HIGHLIGHTS

  • Tehran Grand Bazaar:
  • The Grand Bazaar of Tehran is the heart of the country’s economy, which is a memorial from the Safavid, Zand, and Qajar era, which in addition to its constructal and architectural beauty, has a proliferation history and has played its role as a great and important social center.
  • The main entrance, named the Grand Bazaar, was established during the era of Naser el-Din Shah, and even other entries were organized in this era. Undoubtedly, the Naser el-Din Shah period should be considered as the golden era of the Tehran Grand Bazaar, where many constructions have taken place in the Tehran Grand Bazaar.
  • Tourists and foreign diplomats residing in Tehran, from the late nineteenth century, described the Tehran’s Bazaar as the most spectacular spot in the capital of Iran, today, the Bazaar has a special and complex architecture, corridors, spiral vaults and traditional veneers. But this beauty and complexity did not exist at the beginning of the Bazaar. Over time, the Tehran Bazaar expanded; for example, parts of the Bazaar were covered by the heat of the summer. These developments also took place in the service areas, with cafes, bars, baths, mosques, saqakhaneh and many husseiniyahs built on this Bazaar.
  • Tabiat Bridge:
  • The Tabiat Bridge (Nature Bridge) is a three-floors, with a walk and non-automotive in Tehran, which is a symbol of Tehran, passing through the highway of Modarres and connecting the Taleghani gardens in the east and Abo Atash Park in the west.
  • The tree form of the columns and the choice of the name ”nature” for the bridge, both emphasize the continuity of the two green spaces by Bridge. The design of this bridge is inspired by the Iranian bridge architecture, such as Khaju Bridge in Isfahan, and is a fully-fledged ecological and nature-built structure whose similar prototype has been built in the national and natural parks of France, Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium, Malaysia and Australia.
  • Throughout the bridge, spaces are provided with cultural, recreational and tourist functions, for example, coffee shops, cafe galleries, and the green space on the bridge, which, along with the curvature of the body, gives beautiful views.
  • Tajrish Square:
  • Tajrish is the region in the metropolis of Tehran and the center of Shemiranat, located in the range of the Alborz mountain range. This square, which lies at an altitude of 1600 meters above sea level, has the mild climate and cold-tempered weather.
  • Tajrish Square, which is now one of the most commercial and busy places in Tehran, once was a quiet area, where the Bazaar and Imam Zadeh Saleh were the only major centers. In those days, livestock animals were used, such as nags, mules, and donkeys, and cars were seen rarely. Now Tajrish Square is one of the main causeways of Tehran that has the bus, taxi and subway station terminals, and is always busy and crowded. The Bazaar, the great Tekieh of Tajrish and Imam Zadeh Saleh, are the main attractions of Tajrish district.
  • With the presence in Tajrish’s Bazaar, which runs from one side to the famous Tekieh of Tajrish and Imam Zadeh Saleh, and on the other hand to Qods Square and Tajrish Square, the old Tehran’s space can be touched somewhat and enjoyed communicating with the locals, where many tourists refer to it as a nostalgic place and will go back to it at the first opportunity.
  • Darband:
  • Everyone in Tehran is chosen Darband as the best choice for hosting guest and foreign guests. This region, located at an altitude of 1700 meters above sea level, is the main way to climb Central Alborz Mountain and starts from the Qods square (near Tajrish), and the climbing statue (located in Sarband Square) is considered to be the address for the end of this place. Darband is a cold area and touristic in Tehran and a river named Darband flows through the village of Darband.
